After seeing these posts every week, I finally decided it was about time I joined in. Seeing WWW posts always makes me smile, and I love seeing other people’s reading lists almost as much as my own. If you haven’t heard of WWW Wednesday, that’s okay! I hadn’t until I joined Twitter.
WWW Wednesday is simply wonderful, simple, and wonderful. It asks three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
With Covid19, life for everyone is a bit up in the air, and this naturally impacts reading habits. I’m now homeschooling for the foreseeable future to protect my immune system, and my son, who has asthma. Finding times to read and write is all a bit precarious now, but we’ll manage. So here we go.
What are you currently reading?
Right now, I’m reading The Confessions of Frannie Langton. This is one that has sat on my book shelf for far too long, and I’m absolutely loving it! I can’t wait to write my review about it already, because it is one of those books that you can’t help but share. I only started it recently, and ended up reading long into the night because putting it down was pretty much impossible. It’s a must read; highly emotive and one of the most atmospheric books I’ve ever read, it changes the way you see the world around you.
What did you recently finish reading?
Recently I finished Miss Benson’s Beetle, an ARC from NetGalley that I thoroughly enjoyed. At times it felt a bit abrupt and jerky, but with an ARC there is always the probability of upcoming editing before final publication. Nevertheless, it was a really pleasant read, even in unpleasant moments, because it was just such a wonder of friendship and love. It made me smile and feel all fuzzy inside, turning page after page.
What do you think you’ll read next?
This question is a bit trickier, as with the approaching Magical Readathon I’m very conscious of how long a book might take me to read. If I have time, I’ll read either The Deathless Girls or Where The Crawdads Sing, which I started a while ago and then abandoned when the ARCs started piling up!
I know this post has been brief, but I’d love to hear what your answers are for WWW Wednesday. Either leave them in the comments, or leave links to your own posts.
Stay safe, all.
