Book Tag – My Life In Books

Hi all! I’m back with another book tag, this time My Life In Books. Thanks to Cielo over at BelleRoseReads for tagging me in this fun collection. Check out her linked post for an example of just how beautiful a blog can be! Without further ado, let’s get started.

  1. Find a book with each of your initials
    E – Everything, Everything – Nicola Yoon
R – Red At The Bone – Jacqueline Woodson
I – I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings – Maya Angelou
    K – Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J Maas
A – An Orchestra of Minorities – Chigozie Obioma

2. Count your age along your book shelf
Going with my nearest bookshelf… 29 – Truly Devious – Maureen Johnson

3. Pick a book set in your country / city
The Roy Grace Series by Peter James is set in Brighton, my hometown.

4. Pick a book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to
My review for The Ship of Shadows goes up on Saturday, and the idea of traveling around to Morocco is the perfect answer for this.

5. Pick a book that has your favourite colour on it
I don’t actually have a singular favourite colour – I just like colours! I like bursts of happy, bright shades, and so this question immediately made me think of The Girl With the Louding Voice by Abi Daré.

6. Which book do you have the foundest memories of?
Ooh tricky question! This year, I’d probably say the Court of Thorns and Roses series as I’ve found real comfort in reading them, especially while my depression has been so bad. I don’t know what my answer for all of time is. Possibly the same – I’ve fallen very in love with the series and the characters despite only reading them this year.

7. Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?
I really struggled recently with The Starless Sea. As you can read in my review, I just didn’t get along with it at all, and only finished reading it as it was part of a reading challenge! There was something about it that I just didn’t enjoy, which was a huge disappointment – I was so looking forward to it! You can’t win them all, I suppose.

8. Which book on your TBR pile will give you the most achievement when you finish it?
Either A Little Life or Wild Swans. I’m intimidated by both of them slightly by sheer length of them both and also by their reputations. I’ll work my way through them when I’m feeling brave!!

Thanks for joining me here today! Naturally anyone who wants to join in, please consider yourself very much tagged, but also tagging:

  1. I have a ton of fond memories of the ACOTAR series as well, especially curling up in bed after a long, stressful day and finding some escape in the world. I’m glad to hear that they gave you comfort, too! 🥰 I’m terrified of A Little Life, but want to read it one day! I think I’ll have to dedicate a whole month just to finishing it, haha! Sending love!! xx
