WWW Wednesday – 7th October 2020

I love Autumn. Although there isn’t a time of the year where you won’t find me with a book, curled up with a good book under a fluffy blanket and a snuggly jumper in October makes me immensely happy. My streak of poor health is continuing, so I’ve been spending a lot of time in bed under my duvet, and it’s times like this when you really can appreciate the little things; the weight of the book, the mug of herbal tea.

As always, WWW Wednesday’s are all about three things:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
Just this morning I have finished The Devil and The Dark Water by Stuart Turton. I loved his first book, The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle – in fact it was one of my favourite reads last year, and this is easily going to be one of my favourites of 2020. This is one of those books that will stay with you for a long time, with immensely developed characters, and a plot that will keep you guessing every single step of the way.

What are you currently reading?
Well, like I said, I’ve just finished The Devil and The Dark Water, but because I’m useless at committing to a single book at a time, I still have others on the go. As I jumped on Devil as soon as it arrived, I haven’t actually finished my ‘currently reading’ from last week, so I still have They Wish They Were Us on the go, and I’m going to do my best to finish that before jumping into another book, although I am useless at sticking to that.

What are you planning on reading next?
I’m going to try and challenge some of my ARCs (I know, I know, how many times have I said THAT?) but also work my way through some of the books I have planned for a Halloween related post about spooky books which I’m really excited about.

So that’s where I’m at! The fact I’ve managed to read as much as I have while being under the weather has been a real achievement, so I’m hopeful I can manage a few more in the time while I feel under the weather.
