Hello hello, and happy Wednesday! It’s always good to know we’re in the middle of the week, even if this year is just one long chain of days. I’m really feeling Lockdown 2.0 harder than than Lockdown Original, so holding on with my absurd sense of humor is the best I can do.
It’s been a busy few weeks as I’ve been working on my NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for those who think I’m just writing random letters), which is where you write fifty thousand words in the month of November. I’ll be writing my last words today which is really exciting; I was so worried my health would get in the way of writing this year, but actually this is the easiest novel I’ve written out of the times I’ve done NaNo. I will be editing and sending this one off, rather than just talking about it.
I’ve still managed to squeeze in some reading though, so let’s draw our attention back to that!

WWW Wednesday is all about using three simple questions to summarize your reading.
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What are you planning on reading next?
Let’s jump right in.
What have you recently finished reading?
My latest finished read was the superb new book by Karen M McManus, The Cousins. I’ve reviewed two of her books – One Of Us Is Lying, and Two Can Keep A Secret – on my blog previously, and this time I’m part of a blog tour for the new release. The Cousins is due out 3rd December and the blog tour is running from this week until the weeks after the release. My review goes up tomorrow, so I’m not going to say too much, but I will say that I bloody loved it!
What are you currently reading?
After a recommendation from a book group I’m on, I’m currently reading A Deal With The Elf King by Elise Kova. It’s the first book by this author I’ve read, and so far I’m really enjoying it. It’s receiving a lot of praise from fantasy book readers and the cover art especially has been recreated a lot by bookstagrammers as the cover really is beautiful. I’m only 12% into it but so far, so good.
What are you planning on reading next?
Next week it is time to jump back on to the NetGalley train! The post I wrote the other day about my NetGalley TBR has all my books in order of what I need to read. I’ve also got some books that I’m working my way through for other (exciting) reasons that I can’t share yet! One of the only downsides of NaNoWriMo is the amount of reading time it takes away, and with my last words going in today I can jump back onto my pile of books.
Thanks for joining me for another WWW Wednesday. If you’re doing NaNo, I’m cheering you on!
First-year in a while that I’ve not attempted NaNo – Good luck and happy reading. I really need to make a dent in my NetGalley pile too.
