WWW Wednesday – 10th Feb 2021

Hello hello, and welcome to my first WWW Wednesday post of February. It’s been a busy year so far book wise, and with my goal of 100 books to content with balancing out with my chronic health and a bloody – pun intended – period wrecking having this week, I’ve struggled a bit to find the energy to read. It’s always frustrating when I feel like this, and trying to keep my eyes open is a battle that irritates the very core of me. But it is what it is, and I can only make do with it.

As always WWW Wednesday asks three simple questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
Having recently finished reading the second book of the Rivers of London series, I jumped right in to book three: Whispers Under Ground. Where book one had focused on world building, books two and three have been able to build onto that solid foundation to create really exciting reads. I can’t wait to write about it properly. You can read my reviews of books one here and book two here in the meantime.

What are you currently reading?
As always, I have multiple books on the go right now. My usual selection normally includes one ARC, one physical book and one audio – and that’s exactly the situation for this week. ARC wise, I’m just getting started on Ariadne, and absolutely loving it. For audio, I’m working my way through The Infernal Devices part of the Shadowhunters world, listening to Clockwork Angel. And as for physical, it’s another Shadowhunters book, this time The Red Scrolls of Magic, which I’m reading alongside two fellow book bloggers and really enjoying. It focuses on one of my favourite side characters, and it’s great fun as well as having a serious undertone. Being able to discuss it with my friends makes it even better, for fear of sounding like a five year old!

What are you planning on reading next?
Next is a pile of ARCs that keep glaring at me each time I pick up a Shadowhunters book. In my February TBR I also mentioned that I’m eagerly awaiting the release of A Court of Silver Flames this month, so I’ll be rereading A Court of Frost and Starlight ahead of its release. I’ve got plenty of really exciting books to keep me company in the meantime!

Thanks for stopping by. While you’re here, have you seen some of my recent reviews?
