WWW Wednesday – 12th May 2021

Hello hello. It’s Wednesday yet again, but I’ll be honest; this Wednesday feels like a tough one. A dear friend of mine died yesterday morning, a fellow bookworm, and I’ve been hit pretty hard. Knowing she won’t see another Wednesday herself, and knowing that I won’t see her again, despite knowing this was coming, makes this day somewhat surreal.

So this particular post is for you, B. x

WWW Wednesday is a three question way of looking at recent and current reading habits:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
My most recent finished read was Dangerous Remedy, book on the in Battalion of the Dead series by Kat Dann. This historical fiction with a splash of fantasy really was an exciting red, and an exciting start to the series. I had Dangerous Remedy on my TBR for a while, but pushed it up to the top as I’ve been sent an ARC for the second book, Monstrous Design, which I’m really looking forward to starting.

What are you currently reading?
It’s time to take a step back in time with the Shadowhunters world, and I’m reading Clockwork Princess. I’ve read both the previous books, Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince, and I’m up to the final book in the Mortal Instruments series, so although I’m a bit behind, I absolutely want this book finished before I go any further. I’ve seen mentions or appearences of all three of the trio from Infernal Devices, so I’m sure I need to be on the ball before I go any further.

What are you planning on reading next?
My next read will be Double Lives: A History of Working Motherhood, which I’m reading for this year’s Wolfson History Prize blog tour. I’ve been lucky to be involved in the two previous years, firstly with Reckonings, and secondly with The Five. This is a book that I’m really excited to read, knowing how much it’s going to make me think at different points.

Well there we go, this week’s WWW Wednesday summed up neatly. I’ll have another post for you tomorrow, so be sure to check back in!
