WWW Wednesday – 2nd June 2021

Another Wednesday, and we’re into another month! The year is doing that thing where it seems to move both so fast and so slow, and I’m not quite sure where to catch up with it. I’m not a big lover of summer – sorry beach lovers! – because the sunshine triggers my migraines more, and even with the new, vastly more successful treatment I’m now on, I still get the visual distortion side of migraines, leaving me using my cane a bit more, but at least still able to read once my eyes have readjusted to being inside, which is something I’m really grateful for. I’ve only been on this treatment since the beginning of this year, so I didn’t have it last summer.

Although June is barely under way, I’m already on a roll with what I’m reading, and with both my June TBR AND Whatever-A-Thon going ahead, I need to be!

WWW Wednesday, as always, works like this. It’s three simple questions to look at your recent reading habits:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?

My most recent finished read is The Wolf and The Woodsman. This five star read absolutely blew me away and I loved absolutely everything about it. And yet, I haven’t written my review about it yet, because it was simply so beautiful, so powerful, that I can’t form proper words about it. It’s a book built on a background of myths and legends, with the absolute talent of Ava Reid powering it through. I’m never going to forget this book.

What are you currently reading?

I’ve currently got three different books on the go, all in different formats. My current audio book is A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab, which I’ve been planning on reading for ages, and I’ve finally got around to it! I’m about three hours in so far.

My second book is an eARC of Not My Problem by Ciara Smyth. This has ended up being much more fun than I thought it would be, and has made me laugh out loud numerous times. It’s a great, easy read.

My third book is what I started today while my Kindle with the above book was charging on it! All Our Hidden Gifts is also set in Ireland, but has a touch of fantasy woven in to the mystery, and I’m absolutely loving it.

What are you planning on reading next?

My next audiobook will be Mirrorland which is for a blog tour later on in the month. My next physical book, I think, will be Threadneedle, which I’m really excited to get around to reading after it arrived a few weeks ago. It’s such a beautiful book.

So there we are! Happy Wednesday everyone.
