May 2021 Wrap Up

Hello hello, and welcome or welcome back to my little corner of the internet. May has been a busy month for all of us, with regulations surrounding Covid-19 starting to change, and for me personally, turning 30! What better ways to celebrate leaving my 20s behind than to read – and buy – as many books as possible….

More seriously, my health has been on a downward slide for a while now, and it’s been frustrating me greatly across the course of the year. But this month I’ve tried to just relax and enjoy what I’ve been reading a bit more rather than getting held back. It hasn’t always been possible because some days have been really bad, emotionally and physically, but I’ve worked to do it where possible. I want to enter my 30s with a positive attitude, or at least try to.

As it turned out, I didn’t read anything from my May TBR, other than Sunkissed, which I read for a blog tour. I didn’t get along, or get around to, any of the others but it did end up being a good month overall.

I could have just read the From Blood and Ash series on repeat for most of it as it was lodged in my head so much I couldn’t shift it! I started rereading the series as soon as I finished The Crown of Gilded Bones the first time, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I needed to create new regular blog posts, I’d probably have done the same thing again!

I hit read number 60 of the year this month which I’m really pleased with as my yearly challenge was 100 books and I’m setting myself up to pass that with plenty of space. Considering that last year I managed high 70s, this feels like an achievement.
