Hello hello, and welcome or welcome back to my little – gay – corner of the internet. My corner of the internet is always very gay, but it happens to be decked out in flags and adgendas to take over the world. Obviously.
As a gay woman, it’s my natural inclination to suggest books that include gay women, because it’s that kind of representation that I would like to see more of in the world, and it’s the representation I relate to the most. Some of these books have the main character as gay or queer, and some have them as side characters, but regardless – these are the books that felt most important to share when it comes to Pride month. That’s not to say that any queer books don’t matter; every representation does. But I can’t list every LGBT book out there, and so I’m focusing on just a few of the ones that, as a gay woman, I think are worth a mention. There are plenty of posts like this going up out there this month especially, so keep an eye out if you’re looking for more recommendations.

There’s just a few of the books out there that deserve a mention this month. Some have been out for a while, some are new releases, and all matter. Like I’ve said above, this is far from an ultimate list and I wouldn’t claim to be. But, as a gay woman, these are just some of the books I’ve found myself shown in, and are again just some of the books I’d suggest if you wanted somewhere to start. There’s everything from high fantasy to contemporary fiction, so there’s something to suit everyone.

The Adiba Jaigirdar books look excellent and I will keep an eye out for them. I have Clap when you Land to read and hope I’ll get to it this month. I’m reading a book from NetGalley called In Our Words: Queer Stories from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Writers which has some good stories and obviously a good and needed purpose, but it’s a bit erotica-focused for my tastes (I hasten to add that I would very much say that too, were it a set of cishet stories about White people!) and I’m struggling on how I’m going to review it!
