WWW Wednesday – 25th August 2021

Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet! It’s the last Wednesday in August, so it’s time for the weekly Wednesday check in. I love the routine of WWW Wednesday, looking at my weekly habits, and looking at what I’ve still got on the cards to reads.

Last week, I was in the middle of several books, most of which I’ve now finished actually. It’s been a busy week! I’ve managed to get a lot of reading done, and I’ve still got several on the go, of course.

As always, WWW Wednesday is about three basic questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
Earlier today I finished reading Anno Dracula. I’ll be honest, this book wasn’t everything I wanted it to be, and I didn’t love it, but it was something a bit different to read. Yesterday I finished Sabriel as an audiobook, which was absolutely brilliant, and I loved. It’s taken me far too long to get around to listening to it, and I’m glad I finally did; rest of the series, here I come!

What are you currently reading?
My ebook at the moment is Dark and Shallow Lies. A mystery set in an isolated town full of psychics, this book is creepy stacked on top of spooky stacked on top of weird. And. I. Love. It. I can’t wait to review it fully. I’m 25% of the way through right now and loving every single page.

I’m still working my way through Defy the Night, and the pace just keeps getting faster and faster. My heart is hammering away as I’m reading, and I need to know how this book finishes. And then have the next one waiting for me, please and thank you.

Because I I only finished Anno Dracula this morning, I haven’t currently got an audiobook on the go – shock! – but I do have a few downloaded and I’ll be picking which one to start with later today.

What are you planning on reading next?
I’m going to be started The Peculiar Tale of the Tentacle Boy today, ready for the blog tour that is going on this week. My spot is on Friday, so I’m going to snuggle down and binge read – my favourite way to read a book I’m excited about!

My next ebook will be The Girls Are Never Gone, as that’s a blog tour I’m scheduled on for in September, and that’s another book I’m really looking forward to. “A life-or-death struggle against an evil spirit”? Perfect.

And as mentioned, I’ve got a list of audiobooks I’m working my way through!

It’s going to be a busy week reading and writing wise – I have PLANS. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out some of the other posts going up this week with reviews, book tags, and blog tours.
