WWW Wednesday – 1st September 2021

Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet, and happy September bookworms! How have we moved into September already? It seems to have happened so quickly, and yet, because of the ongoing Covid situation, life seems to move a little slowly. Thankfully I can sit and read whatever day of the week it is, and whatever month it is for that matter, and actually moving into Autumn is better for me as the sun isn’t as strong, giving my eyes a bit of a break.

My health has taken a bit of a dip the last few days. One of my health conditions is hugely impacted by stress, and there’s a lot of that in my life right now, which makes life just that little bit more intense. I could do with being able to put my brain in a jar and forget about everything properly for a bit, but, alas, even my nightmares are about death and moving house.

Back on topic.

WWW Wednesday is a way of tracking reading habits with three simple questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
My most recently finished book was my ARC of Defy the Night. It’s by far one of the best books I’ve read this year, and possibly one of my favourite reads of all time. I’ve been super lucky with so many of the ARCs I’ve been sent this year (thank you to all the wonderful publishers and authors!), but this book blew me away. It’s out later this month, and keep an eye out for my review in the coming days.

What are you currently reading?
I was hoping to finish both these books by the end of August but because of my health crash I just didn’t manage it. My current audiobook is The Guinevere Deception, which I’m absolutely loving. It’s a combination of traditional historical fiction, fantasy and a big old dose of feminism. I’ve been wanting to read it for a while, and the audiobook version of it is beautiful.
I’m three quarters of the way through the paperback of The Woods Are Always Watching, which is creepy and wonderful.

What are you planning on reading next?
Yesterday I posted my September TBR, which has some of the books I have planned. I’ve also got several books planned for blog tours as well that I’m looking forward to digging into, starting with Lies Like Wildfire, The Girls Are Never Gone, and The Hawthorne Legacy, which is the sequel to The Inheritance Games.

So there we are. The first Wednesday and first day of what is going to be a really busy month. Wishing you all well. Stay safe and healthy.
