Hello hello, and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. Today is – drumroll please…. time to look back at my Good Reads completed challenge!
I set myself a goal of reading one hundred books this year, and I reached it on 21st August, which I’m feeling pretty damn good about, quite frankly. Audiobooks have played a cruital role in me still managing to be able to read even when I’ve been feeling really unwell, but I’ve managed a large amount of physical and ebooks as well. I’ve been really lucky, with almost all of what I’ve read being 3 stars of more, with 4 stars being the avarage. I’m going to break it down a bit more below. But I really couldn’t be happier with where things stand at the 100 book mark, even though I’ve finished a few more since then.
I decided not to increase my reading challenge number, although I’m obviously still reading as much as I can. Partly this is because I reached my target and am now just curious, but also it’s because last year I ended up increasing my challenge number multiplr times to see where I’d end up, and I just don’t think that’s needed this time around. It’s not that the pressure got to me last year, I just don’t see the need. I wrote a piece several months ago about why I do the Good Reads challenge, and everything I said then still stands.

So let’s break it a bit!
Five Stars: 25 Books
Four Stars: 54 Books
Three Stars: 19 Books
Two Stars: 2 Books
One Star: 0 Books

Audiobooks: 44 Books
Physical Books: 40 Books
eBooks: 16 Books

So there we are, the first 100 books of my year wrapped up! I know there are people out there that are reading far many more books than me, but with everything I have to factor in to my day to day life, I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved, and I’m excited to see where I end up in a few months time.
December feels like it’s very far away but really it’s three months! This year I’ve really put a lot of work into increasing my blogging, both the frequency of posts and the quality of what I’m putting out (she says, hopefully), and I want to keep that up. To keep up with regular book reviews though, I obviously need to keep regularly reading books… So, let’s just see what number I wind up on 31st December!
Here’s a few of my favourites from the year so far:
From Blood and Ash
Clockwork Angel
Malice
The Gilded Ones
Ariadne
The Red Scrolls of Magic
Truly Devious
Mina and the Undead
The Wolf and the Woodsman
Ace of Spades
It’s Behind You
Carry On
This Poison Heart
For the Wolf

Congrats on reaching your goal! Awesome job! I used to increase my goal once I reached it but I don’t think I will this year either. I’m just gonna relish the sense of accomplishment once I get there. I’m at 143/175 today.

Good Luck reading 100 books in 1 year – I just can not read quickly enough for that many books – at least so far – but still trying – feel free to visit my blog and leave a comment – thanks🎃
