WWW Wednesday – 8th September 2021

Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. September is rolling along, and my post on the first of the month already feels a million miles away. With having reached my Good Reads Challenge last month – read more about that here – I’m still running along with as many books as possible, which so far this month is going super well.

We have had a close family relative loss recently, and I’ve been coping by hiding in a pile of books, which a great way of handling things when you’re a book blogger. I’ve also had a lot of blog tours going on, so getting ready for all of those has kept me on my toes in the best way.

WWW Wednesday is about looking at reading habits with three simple questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
My most recently finished read has been The Last True Poets of the Sea, which I actually read in two days. I really enjoyed this book, taking from it far more what I expected to, and honestly I’m really surprised why it hasn’t been a book I’ve come across before now. I read it as an audiobook and the narration was so beautiful, so pure, that it hit some serious notes with me.

What are you currently reading?
As always, I’ve got multiple books on the go, and right now it’s one ebook, one physical and one audio.
My ebook is an ARC of Lies Like Wildfire, and we all know how much I love a YA thriller. I’m only about 10% into it so far, but so far so good!
My audiobook of choice currently is Incendiary, which I’m really enjoying. It’s a book that’s been on my TBR for a while now, so to finally have started it, I’m just asking myself why I waited so long.
My physical book is Hide and Secrets, a YA mystery book that, while I am enjoying, seems to fit more into the middle grade bracket than I was led to believe. It’s still an interesting concept, and I will finish it.

What are you planning on reading next?
Next on the TBR pile is Small Town Monsters, which is for a blog tour. It’s got the creepy undertones that I’m loving in books at the moment, so I can’t wait to get around to that one.
I’m also planning on reading Lirael fairy soon as I enjoyed book one during August. My September TBR is already well underway, and I’m going to try and work my way through as many of my ARCs as possible in the latter half of the month too, when I’m back home from the funeral.

Thanks for stopping by today. It’s far too hot out there right now, so you can be completely sure it’s the right weather to be hiding in the shade with a book and an iced coffee. That’s my professional opinion!

  1. So sorry about your loss. I was reading Richard Osman’s “The Thursday Murder Club” midweek as a readalong with my husband – pretty good although I got a bit confused at the end! I think I finished it Wednesday and made him sit quietly after work and finish his audio book so we could discuss it!
