WWW Wednesday – 19th January 2022

Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. Wednesday is here again, and it seems like the month is passing by so quickly yet lasting forever. Isn’t January absolutely the worst?

This has been a busy book week for me so far, and it’s been great. On Sunday night / early Monday morning, I had a bout of insomnia and decided I’d read a chapter of my book to see if it helped me relax. Spoiler: it did not. I ended up reading the rest of the book. I tried to stay awake for the rest of the day in hopes of getting a better night’s sleep on Monday night, and ended up finishing off another TWO books, all on the same day, taking my total up to fourteen books for the year so far, which doesn’t feel too bad.

WWW Wednesday is all about looking at recent reading habits with three simple questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
As I mentioned above, I finished three books on Monday. In order, The Last of August, the second book in the Charlotte Holmes series (read my review of book one, A Study In Charlotte, here). Then I finished the final section of I Know You Did You, which I was buddy reading with the lovely Amy. Finally, I finished book seven in the Rivers of London series, Lies Sleeping. I had taken a bit of a break from reading the books last year, and it was really great to be back with the characters.

What are you currently reading?
Currently I have three books going. I’m still going with The City of Brass, although I am finding it pretty tough going, yet really enjoying it at the same time! It’s a fine balance. Yesterday I started The Grimrose Girls as I needed some more mystery in my life. I’m also pushing forward with The Priory of the Orange Tree. It’s taken me a little while to get to grips with as there’s so much going on, but again, I’m loving it, and I can’t wait to see where the next 700 pages take me!

What are you planning on reading next?
Well I’m still hoping to move through as much of my January TBR as much as possible before the end of the month. I’m also really thinking about moving onto the next Good Girl, Bad Blood for my reread of the series as I’d love to get onto the third book soon; I feel like I’ve been waiting to read it since forever!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope the month is treating you well and you come through it all unscathed!
