WWW Wednesday – 9th February 2022

Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. Today’s post is WWW Wednesday, looking at recent and current reading.

I’ve been struck down by Covid over the last week so I’ve been feeling pretty rough, and probably not working as hard as I would like to have been with reading. Honestly even by my standards, I’ve felt like crap! I’m grateful I only needed the one night in hospital on oxygen, and seem to be finally on the mend now, as I’ve been getting a bit sick of these four walls! But this Monday I picked a book back up, the sign that I’m starting to feel a bit more human, and long may it continue.

So, WWW Wednesday is a way of looking at reading habits with three simple questions:

  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
My most recently finished read was Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating. It had vibes of Date Me, Bryson Keller, but also stood brilliantly as a story with all its own credit. It’s a sapphic fake dating / forced proximenity romance that was full of wit, thoughtfulness, and the changes that the teenage years bring. Both Hani and Ishu want to be seen for who they are, and they follow their own paths, which just happen to also lead them back to one another. Review coming soon!

What are you currently reading?
As always, I have multiple books on the go, and at this particular moment in time, it’s a little bit excessive! Where I’ve been feeling so poorly, I’ve also been incredibly indecisive, and bouncing between books. Currently on the go, I have:

  • The Case For Jamie (Charlotte Holmes #3) – Paperback
  • The Cruel Prince – Audio
  • Ink and Bone – eBook
  • The Bone Spindle – Audio
  • Heartless – Audio

I’m switching in between all the books as it suits me and see what mood I’m in, as I’m particularly bad as sticking to one right now. As I perk up, I’m hoping to finish off a few of these this week.

What are you planning on reading next?
With the upcoming release of House of Sky and Breath, I’m debating rereading House of Earth and Blood. It’s such a detailed book, I want to make sure I remember everything possible before the second book.
I’ve also got a couple of physical ARCs nearby that I want to read, and I want to read the next books in the St Mary’s Chronicles and Rivers of London series.

Thanks for stopping by today for this post. If you want to make sure you never miss a post, you can follow me by clicking the link below! Here’s a few recent posts you might not have seen:
