Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. As always, WWW Wednesday is about looking at recent reading habits with three simple questions:
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What are you planning on reading next?
It’s the middle of the month, which is normally a point where I’m running at about ten books, but this has been a slow slow month, with Covid still handing me my ass on a daily basis, and my health in general having taken an attack because of that. My Addison’s Disease has made it a struggle to push through, and even just leaving the house (as I’m now testing negative, and am three weeks in from my first positive) is enough to wipe me out. A lot of sleeping through the day is happening where I can, which, sadly, is having an impact on my reading time. I’ve only finished five books this month so far, and although I’m reminding myself that I’ve still got time to catch up to my goals, and that I need to take care of myself as a matter of priority… but it’s not an easy battle.

What have you recently finished reading?
My most recent finished read was my reread of Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood. This second time, I read it as an audiobook as all my books are in storage, and I loved it just as much as I did the first time. It remains one of my all time favourite books, and absolutely my favoruite SJM…. so far. I’ll be sharing my Second Viewings post on this book soon.
What are you currently reading?
As will surprise absolutely nobody, I’m currently reading Crescent City: House of Sky and Breath. It only released yesterday and going to collect my copy wiped me out of any energy I was laying claim to, so I’m not very far into it at time of writing, but so far I’m loving it. I am utterly terrified at the damage Sarah is capable of creating however, so I’ll be holding my breath for the next 700ish pages!
I’m also halfway through The Case For Jamie, the third book in the Charlotte Holmes series. I’m loving this book, and the slightly winding route it’s taking, and I’ll be finishing this off as soon as I’m done with the above. Here’s my review of book one, A Study In Charlotte and my review of book two, The Last Of August, is coming up soon.
What are you planning on reading next?
I’m going to leave this point open ended as it all very much depends on when I finish House of Sky and Breath. I’ve got several ARCs that publishers have kindly sent my way and I’m really excited about the pile I have to work through; there are some fabulous books coming out soon! I’ll probably either go for Gallant or Elektra, but, in the words of BBCs Moriarty, “I’m SO changeable!”.

Thanks for stopping by today! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be diving back into this bloody massive book that I’m sure is going to destroy me. If you’re reading too, may the odds be ever in our favour!!
