Hello hello and welcome or welcome back to my little bookish corner of the internet. Wednesday is here again, and I’m sharing my current reading situation with you all today in WWW Wednesday.
Things have been tough here. Between still (STILL) recovering from Covid, our housing stress, and the general day to health health matters to balance out, most days have me wanting to hide under a blanket with an endless supply of ice cream and have a cry. (Author Note: This may or may not have happened on several ocassions.) I can’t believe how much energy just getting through the day is taking from me at the moment. I know that sounds really miserable and grumpy, but I just genuinely can’t believe it. I’m beyond exhausted just being awake, and even curling up to have a nap doesn’t relieve it. It’s deep down in my bones.
Oh god, I sound like someone’s ancient matron aunt from a classic novel that is bound to die of reading too much or getting cold feet or something ridiculous. I KNEW IT.
Back on topic!
WWW Wednesday is about looking at recent reading habits with three simple questions:
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What are you planning on reading next?

What have you recently finished reading?
On Monday I read 24 Hours In Ancient China. This was the last one for me to read in the 24 Hours series, and was the one I was maybe most curious about. I’m passionate about Egyptology and know some of my Roman and Greek history, but not much about Ancient China. As I listened to it, I was absolutely fascinated, and still can’t believe that this is something I didn’t learn about in school! The different beliefs, teachings, recording methods and ceremonial practices, just to name a few things covered, really grabbed my attention. It’s something I’ll be wanting to read more about for sure. Here’s my reviews the others in the series:
– 24 Hours In Ancient Rome
– 24 Hours In Ancient Egypt
What are you currently reading?
I’ve got a couple of books on the go at the moment (of course), currently one physical and three audiobooks I’m switching between depending on my mood. I’m hoping to get as many of them finished this week as possible as I’ve got a BIG stack of ARCs to get my teeth into that all took a bit of a backseat while I was down with Covid. For now, I’m reading:
– One For All by Lillie Lainoff
– A Shadow In The Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout
– The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill
– The Ravens by Kass Morgan and Danielle Paige
What are you planning on reading next?
All.
The.
ARCs.
I don’t think I need to say more!!
I’ve been very lucky with being sent some utterly wonderful books to read, both physical and eARCs, and I can’t wait to dig into them once I’ve finished the books I’ve got on the go at the moment.
In the next week or so there’s also some releases I’m really excited for, so it’s going to be a busy time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. If you missed it, earlier this week I also shared my review of Gallant, which has just been released, and is one of my top reads of the year so far.

Have just received Gallant in the post this morning, and I cannot wait to get started! 😀
