5 On My TBR

I’ve written two previous posts in this series, one all the way back in November 2020 and one in March 2021, but I do enjoy sharing a little bit of my planned reading, especially when I can see that I’m progressing my way through my plans! So I though that I’d share some more.

Since my last post, I’ve read three out of the five and I’m hoping I can increase that and also use these posts as a guideline to help. I said this year I was going to be a bit more strict with my reading, and the monthly plans have helped (January, February, March, April), and while I haven’t always managed to read every book, they’ve certainly helped keep me focused, and as someone who is generally quite erratic, that’s a good thing.

Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson
Wishlist or Owned: Owned, Paperback
This one keeps coming up as recommended with the books I’m reading and planning on reading, so I really do need to get around to starting it. With magic, fantastical libraries, swords and forced enemies-to-ally situations, this really does sound like it will be perfect for me. I think it’s going on next month’s TBR.

Cinder – Marissa Meyer
Wishlist or Owned: Owned, Paperback
I’ve been wanting to start the Lunar Chronicles for a while as, again, it comes up as recommended by both websites and people when I mention my current or planned reading, and so I bought Cinder recently to make a start with. I’m going into it not quite sure what to expect but with an open mind, trying to strictly remember that this isn’t the fairytale we know!

Red, White and Royal Blue – Casey McQuiston
Wishlist or Owned: Wishlist
This year so far has seen me read more romantic comedies than possibly the last ten years combined, and I’ve found them to be generally light relief from the heavier weight of fantasy universes I like to get lost in. Red, White and Royal Blue is one of those books that every book blogger has heard mentioned across their career, and it almost feels inevitable that I’ll end up reading it, and it’s got to the point where I actually want to just to see what everyone is talking about!

Tall Bones – Anna Bailey
Wishlist or Owned: Owned, Hardback
This is a book I’ve recommended before reading it myself, actually. I’ve just got a feeling about it. A good – slightly spooked – feeling. It’s already had rave reviews and I’m so keen to fully submerse myself into this world. It might not be the fantasy setting that I seem to be leaning towards more often these days, but a good thriller still depends entirely on world building. I can’t wait.

Plain Bad Heroines – Emily M. Danforth
Wishlist or Owned: Owned, Audio
I read a sample of this book a while ago prioir to release, and it was immediately addictive. It’s exactly my kind of book, full of twists and turns and more twists. I’m so curious to see where this book ends up going, there’s so many possiblities for thrills and scares. I won’t be listening to this one at night!

There we are, five from my TBR. I’ll be back again soon with another blog post so please don’t be a stranger!

  1. Red, White and Royal Blue – Casey McQuiston is on my TBR list too. I don’t know when I’ll get around to reading it, but I’m hoping it’s soon.
